Pamela’s husband loves to hunt and owned two of the most beautiful long bows and antique handmade arrows so I suggested doing a fantasy session depicting her as Diana, the goddess of the Hunt. She is a cancer survivor and when her hair came back in its gorgeous curls, I thought of styling it up with golden cord. The dress was made from a long piece of sheer fabric that I fashioned simply. The painted backdrop worked quite nicely with the plaster column. Here are my favorite studio images of this fantasy portrait.

Just finished a fun session with Becky. She was able to fit into my grandmother and mother’s antique dresses so most of the session was vintage inspired. We also did a few semi nude fine art studies. Thank you Becky for being such a great model and bringing my grandmother’s dresses to life.

My friend Deb modeled for me last weekend for some conceptual fantasy portraits. Each idea was sketched out prior to the session, antique clothes acquired. I made the hair wreath out of silk flowers and borrow the antique long bow and arrow from another friend who is a hunter. The session was primarily in the studio since it was a rainy day and since I had prepared and had a written game plan for the session with notes of what was needed and all, it went very smooth and we finished in a relatively short time.

Again, Bernice! She is an amazing athelete and is my aqua aerobics instructor. Very petite.

Here is Bernice posing on top of a mountain with a long bow and antique arrow that is on loan from a friend of mine.

“Stare” is all about how engaging eyes can be. Getting a subject to look into the camera directly is sometimes difficult. Kristel knew just how to do it.

I liked the window light of this image. The costume for the model was quite authentic and I also arranged the pose and props to create the mood.
